Where to start. We were on a 12 day bike tour and this chambre d’hôtes was head and shoulders above anywhere else we stayed (and we gave top ratings to the other chambre d’hôtes we stayed at, too). Set in a small village with no services, the Maison des Cœurs is a beautiful modern, stone and wooden building that replaced an old stone grange which unfortunately burned down a few years ago. The accommodation now provided by the new building is no doubt superior with large, light rooms, a mature, shady garden in which to relax on deckchairs while watching the four resident hens and two cats, and a terrace for dining. Our bikes were safely stored in the garage and my electric bike was plugged into the socket there to charge overnight, saving me the need to take off the battery and charge it in indoors. Our room was very comfortable, with heart motifs everywhere of course, and the largest bathroom we had in all our trip, a bath, cubicle shower, toilet and two basins. Soap, shower gel, shampoo and other products were freely available. Washing of our cycling clothes was offered and the clothes dried rapidly in the garden. The room also had coffee and tea-making facilities and bottles of water. We enjoyed an apéro in the garden and a tasty dinner on the retrace with the hosts’ own salad and a choice of fait-maison puddings (we chose the chocolate gateau). Breakfast featured eggs from the hens and honey from the next village. The crowning glory of our stay was, however, our hosts Sabine and Christian who were both warm and welcoming, friendly and approachable. Sabine could not do enough for us. If there were a higher rating than 10, they would unhesitatingly receive it. Recommended!

Very nice and cosy flat. Kitchen fully equipped. Good double bed. Close (10 km by car) to railway station, shops, a wonderful lake. Owners take care of your well being there. Just a few suggestions to make the experience even better: Stronger lighting in the bathroom. Availability of a small vacuum cleaner in the flat would make the housekeeing easier.

The gite is a perfect mix of traditional look (wood etc) and modern comfort. Everything is in a super good condition, clean, and you will find anything you may need. We were lucky to have snow (a lot!) during our stay what made the place even more magical and we enjoyed hikes everyday starting directly from the gîte. We consider to come back during summer to discover the place on a different way, and enjoy activities around Aiguebellette lake.

The house is in a very peaceful location away from all traffic and is in a lovely location to have a relaxing stay, it is very well equipped, super clean and modern with everything you will need. The beds are comfortable with plenty of clean bedding available. The garden view of the mountain was perfect with a lovely sunny seating area and BBQ, and when you have had enough sun the sound of the little stream while sitting in the shade of the trees at the bottom of the garden was lovely and tranquil. The Hosts were amazing and friendly and were super helpful, even while we were being very needy. They directed us to the nearest bread shop, explained how we could access the lake and let us use some of their equipment and altogether made the holiday one to remember for us and our teenagers. They were on hand anytime we needed them and we would highly recommend a visit.
