The self-contained unit is very well furnished with the essentials for making one self comfortable. On cold days it has enough space and rooms indoors to scatter around and for warmer days, a nice balcony to enjoy the landscape. The place is lit and very well kept. Despite being adjoined to some other units / dwellings, the sensation is of total independence. The sight to the mountains is very relaxing. As this dwelling is in a rural area, there are plenty of options to trek around or to use as a base for exploring further afield. It is necessary to plan the shopping in advance as there are no shops in close (walking) distance. In the neighbouring hamlets (about 30 min walking distance) there are the local bars offering lunch and light food. Having a car is mandatory to move around. The place is close to a good road and far enough not to notice the traffic.
Zaldibia (Near Abaltzisketa)

Breakfast was excellent, a good choice of Spanish meats, cheeses, bread and pastries. Fresh orange juice and good quality coffee to start the day. The hotel was clean, centrally located with a mini supermarket 50 metres for water and snacks. We chose Ordizia as it was close to San Sebastián (we recommend taking the park and ride which is free from parking Illunbe in the summer months and weekends the rest of the year) and Vitoria Gasteiz. Pamplona could also be visited but we didn’t have time to go there.

For us this was a pass-through overnight stay on route to (southern) Spain. Before we used to spend one night in one of the chain hotels in France (Kyriad, Campanille,...) This is far better. One has to drive a little further and it is not immediately along the highway, but the quality is worth the extra mile. The hotel has a good restaurant, friendly staff and above all very comfortable and clean room.
