The host was amazingly friendly, even inviting us to his nieces engagement party while we were there and we got to experience some authentic Nubian food! The location is great, much quieter than staying on the east bank but also just a short and very cheap ferry ride over to the hustle and bustle. The room was nice and clean with a bathroom, ceiling fan, heaps of cupboard space, supplied towels and a really comfy bed. Would definitely reccomend!

We had a lovely time in Kato Waidi. Mahmoud the manager was incredibly attentive and helpful including producing a birthday cake for one of us. Nothing was a problem, we had only to express a wish to pick a couple of options from their standard offers and he came back in a minute having organised a boatman to bring us up to Aswan to the Nubian Museum (and wait 2 hours for us!) then on to Kitcheners Island to the Botanic Garden (where he dropped us one end and picked us up the other) and finally back by the scenic route inside the islands where we saw an amazing collection of birds. We assured Mahmoud that our review would be very favourable and it is!

I stayed at Nile View Guest House for 5 nights in July 2023. The property was clean upon arrival. There is an air conditioner and a fan in the room, so you can use what you like. I felt very comfortable at the hotel. It is a family-run business, so you get the feeling of being around Egyptians who care about you. The food was lovely. I enjoyed the daily trip to the hotel, and the boat was driven by one of the family members. One feels safe around them. They are easy-going people, and they are kind and considerate. They messaged me few days before my arrival to help me arrange my trip and to check if I needed anything, and that was very helpful. They are very respectful of one’s privacy, and they are happy to help. The laundry service is available there for a very good price. I only paid around 130 Egyptian pounds (around 4$) to get many pieces cleaned. I am so grateful to the lovely family for my pleasant stay. I did not get any money to write this review, and I paid for my stay by using booking.com. Asil Ateeri
