Breathtaking location in a natural preserve close to the former border between East and West Germany. It's hard to believe there are still places so pastoral in densely populated Germany. We stayed in the apartment with the balcony, which we greatly enjoyed. The place is spacious, clean, very tastefully furnished, well-kept and literally close to perfect. We would have stayed longer if we could have. Plenty of opportunities for easy-going hiking, exploring neighbouring towns, including historical sites like Wartburg, Alpha Point and Schmalkalden.

The little house feels like home for us, complete with the necessary utilities we needed as a family. The place was very quiet and close to nature so it's a good place to relax. There's a little garden outside the house, with chickens as well which made the stay fun for my son :) There's also a playground for kids within 5-6min walk, and the people in the village are very friendly :)
