I can't speak Vietnamese, but she always used Google Translate to explain things to me. she also booked a bus for me to my next destination. Even after checking out, she lets me stay in the room until the night bus arrived and helped me catch the bus. It's nice relaxing place. And the dog lives with her is so so so cute!

All rooms are fitted with a balcony with mountain views. Hoa Phong homestay is one of the best places to spend a night or two in the beautiful and peaceful village of Ta So. Of course, one shouldn't expect luxury but the facilities are excellent considering that this is a remote village high up in the mountains of north western Vietnam. Apart from the facilities, another thing that impressed me and my wife is the friendliness of the host, A Hang, and his wife, Y Hoa. He spoke good English and was more than ready to help us arrange a taxi to fetch us from town (and back to town) and assisted us to communicate with our transportation provider to Hanoi (note that English is seldom understood in that part of Vietnam). He also took us around his village and gave us a glimpse of the villagers' life. Oh, and not to forget, we enjoyed the delicious dinner and breakfast his family prepared for us. Truly a great place to visit if one is looking for something different from the usual tourist spots in northern Vietnam.

Guests can enjoy mountain views. This is a really special place. The view is lovely from the top of the hill - with a beautiful sunrise and sunset. The atmosphere is lovely and communal. The room we had was incredibly comfortable and spacious, and there was a fireplace to keep us warm. The dinner provided was absolutely delicious - as is the plum wine that they make at the farm!
