One of the best acommodations on my trip to Sri Lanka. The location itself is great - not far away from the village center, but still in nice, quiet local road where you can meet lots of friendly local people. The garden in Mango tree house is very beautiful and very well kept! The cottages are super clean, very spacious and beautiful. Loved the waterfall shower in bathroom! The owner family is very friendly and welcoming. You can feel very relaxed there as they help in everything needed. I got my rides organized by the owners which saved my time a lot. Also their dinner was great, one of the best local meals I’ve had in Sri Lanka. Even if they dont have pool, there is one at really near by hotel that the owner directed me to enjoy refreshing swim on a hot day. You only pay small fee to enter the pool. I would definitely stay here again!

The yard of this place is so beautiful and next to it you will be able to find peacocks from the national park walking around. At night some animals were walking on the rooftop. But it wasn't bothering at all. Food was delicious and the portions really big. I highly recommend to book safari tour here too because, since my breakfast was included into the price, I were able to eat the delicious breakfast at the national park with the most amazing view. The staff is incredibly nice and friendly and the picked me up from the station and brought me to the bus station. I would definitely come here again. Thank you so much for making my stwy so special.

Kuma and his wife were so helpful and friendly - nothing was too much trouble! The room was exceptionally clean , spacious and well equipped with a lovely covered area to relax with a book. Home cooked food was delicious and plentiful. Kuma also organised us a fantastic safari at the close by Udawalawe Park with a great driver/guide who found us lots of different animals, plus he arranged a trip to the Elephant Transit home which coincided with the baby elephants being given their milk. A truly unforgettable stay, and excellent value for money. I would definitely return there.

The Countryside Udawalawe is a lovely hotel with villas surrounding a pool and garden, calm and relaxing atmosphere. The rooms were very nice - comfortable bed, good A/C and nice modern bathrooms. The management is amazing & organized - we had their driver bring us from Ella to Udawalawe, and then again from Udawalawe to Dikwella. The driver was great and the car very clean and comfortable. He was right on time and pointed out sites for us along the way. They also booked a private Jeep for a safari through Udawalawe Park, and they were very accommodating of our last minute change in plans. The safari driver/guide was excellent and made sure we saw lots of animals. The managers were always there when we came back to the hotel to make sure everything was going well, and we had a nice Sri Lankan dinner and breakfast there as well. Perfect location - very close to the Park and the Elephant Transit Home.
