Upon recommendation from the owner, I took a trip to Aizu Wakamatsu and Nanukamachi street - just a short train ride away- and went to Tsuruga castle, the tea ceremony and the Oyakuen medicinal herb gardens. These were all so beautiful and well worth seeing when staying in Inawashiro. The next day, the staff took me to the train station to rent a bike for just 500 yen for the whole day. I cycled half way around the lake, stopping at the beach and at Sanshiro restaurant for chilled soba and vegetable tempura!! So tasty. The homestay is just stunning, with the most incredible views of Mount Bandai. I was very lucky with the weather and had three days of sun. There are fridges in the dorms so you can keep your own food and they were happy to help me heat it up. The showers are so powerful and the facilities very clean! I had a very comfortable stay here, getting very good nights sleep in the comfortable beds and peaceful atmosphere. There are many games to play too to keep you occupied in the evening with the other guests. I actually can’t fault this lovely guest house- one I will always remember.

The rooms were clean and spacious. でらさん was very nice and super helpful and gave everyone various maps and information about morioka and iwate. A convenience store is located 10 minutes walk away from Uchi Matsushima Guesthouse. The owner offered me a cup of local (next town over) sake while we chatted. He was knowledgable and helpful about the area too, suggesting a great place to get a view of the bay.

The property has quiet street views and is 9 km from Ichinoseki Station and 19 km from Mizusawa Station. The property is non-smoking and is set 5.5 km from Takkoku Seikou-ji Temple. The hosts are the most amazing people in the world. They were super nice and helpful. The room is quite big and very comfortable. Also the hosts go out of their way to provide anything you may need; they even offered to pay for the Onsen so you can enjoy it after a day of walking. I fully recommend anyone staying at Hiraizumi to stay here.

Free WiFi is available throughout the property, and free private parking is available on site. super nice hospitality and great service from staff. room is very new and very clean. location is great. close to many malls and restaurants. and only 40 mins to zao ropeway. really enjoy staying here. onsen is great too

The ryokan has a hot spring bath and sauna, and guests can enjoy a drink at the bar. Free private parking is available on site. Everything is amazing. It is expensive, but you get what you pay. I recommend staying for at least 2 nights. I stayed for only one night, and I think I could have enjoyed more (like the gardens and the free rental bike service) if I had more time. Having said that,I thoroughly enjoyed my bedroom, the lounge, restaurant, the baths. The free all you can eat ice cream in the lounge was also a positive surprise.
