Best of staying at Juma was the owner Pino, who made me feel at home, and made an itenary for me every morning when I rented a scooter and traveled the area.

The giant four poster bed was very comfortable. Really good hot shower- just turn it to the cold direction! Every night we had spectacular sunset views and the lightening storms were certainly a spectacle with our panorama view. The best part was Maya and her family who looked after us so well. Maya was so resourceful and nothing was a problem. She organised a motorcycle for us and knew where to go and what to do. She recommended good food and she made us laugh.

Parapat is 10 km from the guest house. Great place to stay on Samosir Island. Good rooms for decent prices, located at a quiet and nice garden with a view on the lake. Also good working wifi inside the room. In their restaurant, opposite the road, they serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. You can also rent a scooter which is very usefull at Samosir if you want to make excursions by yourself. And a friendly and helpfull host. What more do you need?

The room was spacious and had a view of the lake. There was a restaurant attached to the guesthouse, so we did not have to so far to get food. Food was delicious and decently priced compared to some of the restaurants nearby. There is a ferry stop at the guesthouse, which was very convenient. Lastly, shower was hot.
