Very lovely seapods where you can drift to sleep to the sound of the waves against the shore and cliffside, and see wildlife like deer right at your doorstep (if you’re lucky). The seapod had everything we needed and was so cosy. There was a very strong sense of community where ingredients for dinner were sourced from the island itself, with some grown at their own croft, and others like scallops handpicked in partnership with the local divers - therefore all very fresh. The best part of our stay was, without a shadow of doubt, Sarah - the most friendly, helpful, funny host. She made us feel so welcome from the moment we stepped into the dining area, shared with us so much knowledge and tidbits about the island, and when I stupidly left some personal items back at the property, she was so responsive, assuring and meticulous to get them back safely to me. The experience staying with SEAcroft was sublime, and worth every penny and car mileage.

She went out of her way to ensure our visit went better than expected. We will spread the word that No.3 is THE place to stay while visiting the Isle of Lewis.

The property offers allergy-free units and is situated 37 km from Callanish Standing Stones. We loved everything about the Wardicott! The host (Rod), the shared spaces (multiple sitting rooms), our room, the beds, the breakfast (Thank you, Gloria), the cleanliness... literally everything. The attention to detail amazed us. The host greeted us with a dram of whiskey and a piece of cake while he sat with us, explained the island and helped us plan our next day. We stayed in a room with two twin beds. The room was up a flight of steps, and was large and spacious. It even had its own little sitting area with two chairs. And the beds - oh, the beds were so so comfortable. They were thick and surely expensive mattresses covered in quality linen. Seriously, we would come back to the island so we could stay at the Wardicott. It was by far our favorite place on our entire 26 day trip. Also, the host offers a dinner menu for later in the day. We did not take advantage of this, but wish we would have. After experiencing the Wardicott and having the breakfast they offered, we imagine that the evening meal would have been delightful. Maybe next time....

Stornoway is a pleasant little Town, we really enjoyed it! Short way to go to all places of interest, shops and restaurants.

The hosts are lovely people and the breakfasts excellent. Our room was bigger than at most B&Bs, spotless and comfortable. Our window overlooked our hosts' garden and fenced yard. One night we treated ourselves to a picnic on the garden bench and gazed at the flowers and the sky. We stayed two nights on a small-group tour, and it was easy for the van to drop us off and pick us up. If there's time, hike up the hill above Manor House to the war memorial, its column set high so that every area of Stornoway sees a tribute to its own fallen soldiers of WWI and II.
