A cozy, no-frills guest house within walking distance of three world class distilleries. Our host Niall was simply amazing. He and his family are incredibly welcoming and you almost feel like you are part of the family. They will “get you sorted” with using the local buses, where to grab a bite, who to call for a taxi and whatever else you might be wondering about. Exceptional hosts. The distilleries were great but these fine people will be what we remember most fondly about our stay on Islay.

Situated on Islay, Dha Urlar offers 4-star accommodation with a garden and a shared lounge. Featuring a tour desk, this property also has outside decking. The accommodation features free WiFi throughout the property. More food for breakfast than we could possibly have eaten. Traditional sausages etc, made and served by friendly hosts. Our hosts went the extra mile, were also very helpful with insider information about Islay. We felt that we were being looked after in the warmest way.

Within 15 minutes’ drive of 4 of the Isle of Islay’s whisky distilleries, Skerrols House has uninterrupted countryside views and is just a 5-minute drive from the coastal village of Bridgend. Located in the centre of the island, Bowmore Distillery is less than a 10-minute drive away. Exceeded all our expectations. Very lovely room, super friendly staff and delicious breakfast. We couldn't recommend this place more. Super nice and quiet surroundings, great for a nice afternoon walk to just take in the beauty of the Isle.

The bed and breakfast features garden views and a sun terrace. Fiona is very welcoming. The rooms were very clean. Breakfast was freshly cooked. Everything was to a 5 star standard. Fiona asked if it were ok for her to book dinner for us at nearby Bridgend Hotel for our first night. Food was great. We did accidentally leave a couple of things behind and Fiona went out of her way to get these back to us before we left for Australia

The location is great, literally close to everywhere tourist need in a short walk distance (bars, restaurants, the Bowmore distillery, local shops) and with a plenty of parking space. The homemade breakfast with a wide variety of ingredients for choice was delicious and helped to start a day in a right mood. But the real gem was a pair of lovely and very responsive hosts, Brigit & George, that were there for every need and gave very useful tips and recommendations.
