We really should have stayed longer here. It's a little slice of paradise near Monsanto, and staying in this stone house was such a special experience. I have to mention how amazing and welcoming our host, Ingrid, was. Big thanks to her for the delicious breakfast too. We loved exploring the orchard and were amazed at how beautifully everything is maintained. It was such a treat to pick fresh figs and chestnuts straight from the trees and relax in the garden. During our road trip through Portugal, we stayed in about 12 places, and this was definitely one of our favorites. It's easy to reach by car, and the GPS takes you right to the spot.
Jolly good breakfast. Particularly liked being seranaded on the guitar. Location was at the top of the village on a hill. Hard walking for anyone a bit unfit. The village only had a couple of restaurant at the bottom of the hill.
The house was amazing, built ecologically, most of it made by mr. Pasqual who is a carpenter and a musician. Large, clean, warm and aesthetically beautiful space. Private parking. The most personal and moving hospitality we had in Portugal. The location is great in a quite village close to touristy Monsanto and beautiful Idanha a Velha.
Great apartment in a cute little village. The hosts were super friendly and the place was very well equipped. We also got lots of local products for breakfast and a nice bottle of wine as gifts.
The guesthouse in the small village of Pinha Garcia was quiet and charming. Our hosts were very hospitable and helpful, offering us restaurant suggestions ( not easy on a holiday weekend!) and places in the area to see. The host played some lovely tunes on the guitar he made in the morning. Beautiful breakfast.
A bright small house with everything we need and more. Is a old house outside but inside is so well decorated that we feel the sun inside. And after that surprise we realize that we have a big welcome gift - fruit, handmade bread, cheese, wine, yogurts, juices, butter,... - all for free.

Lovely stay in an interesting property with many features and artworks made by Pasqua who is the owner (also a talented guitar player and singer!). Very hospitable hosts. Penha Garcia is in a fine location with an interesting and scenic fossil walk in the village. Close to Monsanto also very much worth visiting.
