We liked everything about the place but especially the kindness and availability of Sra Luisa and Sr João. They were radiating friendliness and care, our son (1 year old) was jumping in their arms every time he saw them :)
Sefardita, a tastefully refurbished house, is located just couple of minutes away from the castle. Its location is perfect and very convenient. Everything in the house is new and taken care of, the place has plenty of space. The stairs are not as bad as described in other comments (at least for a couple in their late 30s). The only thing I can mention is that the floor downstairs is pretty cold (for children that don't walk yet) and during the night it can get quite cold in the house (it was not an issue for us because days were still hot). The kitchen is equipped with all you need during your stay, even to cook some simple meals, the bedroom is cozy and bigger than it seems from the pictures. The baby cot was kindly provided upon request and was prepared with great care. Moreover, there are maps and guids of nearby places in Alentejo available at the property.
Castelo de Vide is such a beautiful place, I am glad we chose it as our place to stay as I preferred it to Marvão or Portalegre which we visited during the stay. It has restaurants, cafes, bakeries and a few shops. People are friendly and helpful. The attractions are free and the House of Inquisition is really worth visiting (but a bit scary!)

What a wonderful, tranquil and tasteful place you've created Paula! We are so grateful for all the thoughtful touches - fresh bread in the morning, bottle of wine upon arrival... Mrs G was so friendly and welcoming when we got there despite being a bit late and having been a bit lost. We stayed in the cork house which is just perfect for a relaxing holiday stay for 2, it had everything we needed for cooking simple meals. We loved lounging in the sunshine on the deckchairs, listening to the nightingales singing at dusk, watching the sheep next door. We fell in love with this part of Alentejo! The house was perfectly situated for walks and only a short drive from the beautiful towns of Castelo De Vide and Marvão. We did not want to leave! Really hope we can be back in the future!

This place is a real gem, I totally love it! I found it accidentaly on booking, and once we arrive it turns out to be much better than on pictures. Quinta is perfect for few days of relaxing and immersing in portuguese nature, I love hammocks and sunbeds located in different places - depending on the mood - to spend time with friends or on your own:). Apart from that, I really appreciate care for comfort - comfortable beds, air conditioning, heaters, iron and cleanliness of whole apartment. Well equiped kitchen is additional star for me - oven, all kitchen utensils, sharp knives, coffee machine, kettle, dishwasher.
Last but not least- we arrived late in the evening - and were surprised by host with some snacks for supper / breakfast... eggs, bread, cheese and delicious cake:) We were supported during our stay with a lot of hints and recommendations - big appreciation for this!

Filipa and Rodrigo were very friendly and helpful hosts, very communicative and forthcoming.
The place is in a rural area among other farms, it is far from roads or other external noise.
It has a modern interior, large windows, nice bathroom, and comfortable beds.

The location was fantastic, in the center of the village. Our room had a view of the mountains, the staff were very attentive, the cleanliness and hygiene of the room were impeccable. I will recommend.

The only positive aspect of this guesthouse was the location. It's pretty close to the center of the village, and, therefore, close to all main attractions and restaurants.
What a great stay. Rui is a a fantastic host! Arrived in the rain and the village was quite busy with the Portalegre Rally. We couldn’t find a spot and texted Rui. He came out immediately and got us a spot. Room was clean. Fun decorations. Comfy bed. Highly recommended!!!
This place is a gem! Wonderful building, full of character, right in the center, warm welcome, large comfortable bed, felt like a private villa with own pool and chill-out areas. There’s a rooftop terrace with gorgeous views as far as the eye can see.
It was the best surprise after a 4-hour trip from Algarve.
Bed was super comfy. Location okay a bit out of castello de Vide, would have to drive to visit the village but incredible sunsets/rises from up there though
Relaxing, peaceful and calm, we had a lovely stay at Casa da Villa. The apartment is beautiful, central to the town, has good shower, comfortable bed and good kitchen facilities.
We were very pleased to stay in Castelo De Vide and in Casa da Villa and would stay here again. Highly recommended.
