I stayed in a tree house for one night and it was such an exciting night. The yard of this place is so beautiful and next to it you will be able to find peacocks from the national park walking around. At night some animals were walking on the rooftop. But it wasn't bothering at all. Food was delicious and the portions really big. I highly recommend to book safari tour here too because, since my breakfast was included into the price, I were able to eat the delicious breakfast at the national park with the most amazing view. The staff is incredibly nice and friendly and the picked me up from the station and brought me to the bus station. I would definitely come here again.

The most beautiful and serene little glamping with one of the most hospitable hosts we’ve encountered in Sri Lanka yet - Samitha.
Not only is he an excellent cook, he also took us on a boat trip, organised morning safari and took care of everything in between - whether it’s an extra blanket or tea.
You’re right smack in the heart of Sri Lankan nature with buffaloes roaming the field across the river and peacocks wandering around.

The host at Kuma safari was very accommodating, we had to move our booking back a day and he was very understanding, changing it with no fuss. They also have safaris available that pick you up from the accommodation, the guide was very knowledgeable and managed to get us to the park first and drive to places away from the crowds so we could observe the animals and nature alone. I would highly recommend staying and booking a safari through Kuma if you are going to Udawalawe!

We had a nice stay in the villa. Rooms are clean, porch is cosy and garden is beautiful. We saw birds, a mangose, turtles, green frogs and several water monitors in the garden! The owner is friendly and arranged a massage for us.
The price we paid (incl breakfast AND diner) was extremely low for what you get here!
Kottawatta Village is an amazing resort with all the amenities you need to fully relax. The on-site restaurant, spa, and pools were fantastic. The lovely staff ensured our stay was comfortable, and our room was clean and cool. The resort is perfectly located in the heart of the town and just minutes from the national park. The safari arranged through the hotel was incredible—we saw loads of elephants! Highly recommend!

Very comfortable Air conditioned lodges with attached bathrooms and sit out, Delicious meals with a mouth watering village lunch, Very friendly and helpful staff. We also had a very well organized safari with Max - Driver was a very experienced guy so we didn't need to get an extra guide, he could spot even tiny birds/cameleons from a pretty large distance. The car was great as well.
We really enjoyed our stay at Max Safari Villa. Max’s mother made a delicious dinner for us. We did have to buy our beer ourselves but that wasn’t really a problem. Safari’s are also arranged bij Max as well as a taxi or tuk tuk.
Kottawatta Village is a magnificent hotel nestled in the heart of the jungle. The beautiful pool and well-designed spaces make it a perfect retreat. We especially loved the outdoor bathroom. A little paradise on earth! Highly recommended!
