Food was amazing and cheap. The small store located inside was very convenient. Staff did everything they could to help even with a language barrier. It was our first time using a public onsen, very clean and locals were super nice explaining how to use. Overall very scenic and beautiful cabins.

The room was spacious, clean and quiet with a nice view of the river and forest. It was lovely sitting on the verandah listening to the rive accompanied by birdsong; no other sounds.

Beautiful location and experience. Very very peaceful. The surroundings are stunning, make sure you take a walk around!
The private bath was fabulous, and the room was very clean. The set meal was nice, and well prepared. If you don’t like “traditional” Japanese foods (tofu, pickled veg etc.) /set meals, I would enquire about the options.
You can get a shuttle to and from the property from the JR station - just enquire to find out the information.
I would recommend bringing some drinks and snacks (if you like that type of thing) as there isn’t much around if you want this.

The hotel itself is very nice and adds to the whole ryokan experience, but I would say the staff was what I liked the most. The hospitality was incredibly welcoming and the service was a 10/10. For example, one time we missed the bus that takes you into town, and a staff member offered to take us to where we were going. They really go out of their way for you!

Staff were welcoming. Food was awesome. Great place for a relaxing day trip. Love the in room onsen.
Beautiful traditional house in Miyama, modern facilities, friendly hosts and delicious Spanish breakfast. Staying there is a wonderful experience. We also enjoy cycling around the village. We wish we could stay longer, at least two nights or more. Thank you Tina and Toru for hosting us!
Beautiful traditional Japanese countryside house, with all modern comforts added. The hosts were great and adapted to our needs. Fits up to ~8 people. About an hour drive from Kyoto, but do consider that the famous Kayabuki No Sato village, while a fairly short drive away, is not within walking distance - so you'd probably want to rent a car.
