We only stayed one night which was a pity. This place is gorgeous, I've never stayed in a hotel where I just wandered about looking at the decor and exploring the hotel so much. Onsen was lovely and the river view was stunning at night.
This was a great idea to stay here as a stop over from Tokyo to Kyoto. By far the best place we stayed and half the price of any other accommodation we had. Thanks.

The manager (5th generation !!) and its staff were so kind and helpful.
We loved the room located on the hill with a short ride in their self-operated cable car.
We didn’t book the dinner/breakfast (plan ahead!) but the staff made great recommendations in town.

From the outside, you would not have expected the modern interior of the self contained appartment. The private onsen with 24/7 running spring water opens to the beautiful valley. Full kitchen and washing machine made the place like a home away from home. Beds were comfortable with separate A/C to rhat in the lounge area. We had a most relaxing time.
