My wife and I (and our dog) just stayed one night en route from Hastings to Yorkshire. Our hosts made our short stay a positively memorable experience. Their two lovely rescue dogs (setters) were a bonus for us and for our own dog.
Breakfast couldn’t have been better. This accommodation is nothing like a “Premier Inn”, instead it is a comfortable, cosy cottage that has charm and character run by hospitable and warm hearted hosts.
My wife tells me that I made a very good choice in booking Mountain Ash and I would agree.

The Pod was superb - our first experience of one, but we could not have chosen better. Very handy for Cadwell Park, and once your day is over, a very short walk into the centre of town where there is a good selection of restaurants and pubs. Although breakfast is normally from 8.00 at the weekend, they kindly obliged with a 7:15 breakfast as we had to be at the track by 8:00.
Anchor House features rooms in Alford. Providing an evening menu, the property also boasts a garden. The bed and breakfast has newspapers and luggage storage service that guests can use.

The whole experience was excellent. Friendly welcome, exceptional breakfast and very comfortable and informal.
Great location (lovely sleepy village but also only 10 minutes from Cadwell Park), friendly staff, great fry up. While the twin room was small (as stated in the description, so not a surprise) the beds were comfortable and there was a good supply of tea, coffee and biscuits.
Overall good value for money for the price.
The village pub is an amazing 500 years old, with beams the lot. Room was lovely, clean, warm, and fronted the quiet street, with views to grass fields, and the edge of the wolds. Food was good pub food, and excellent breakfast included in the price. A great and friendly stay.
Excellent location, staff and Manager both welcoming and attentive. The village and local history applicable to the inn is incredible, rebooking again on my next business trip.
