Location was perfect for what we required. The hosts were superb: very friendly and attentive. The house was scrupulously clean and provided all that we needed for our two night stay. The beds were very comfortable. Previous comments regarding a shared bathroom are misplaced - the hosts are only renting one room so the bathroom was available at all times.

The first impression - from the outside - was not great. But despite the small size of the property - we found inside all we needed. Great designer's job; O). I have to admit the bathroom is small - for a big person it may be a problem - but fortunately, we are not too big people - so...no problem at all. All appliances are in very good working condition (all look like new) & all were very clean and tidy. For a short stay - there was everything we needed. Good location, easy to find. This was the best stay I’ve experienced in England. I’m American and new to England so didn’t know what to expect. I found Joanne’s retreat on booking and wanted to experience the Dorset/coastal region. Unbelievably beautiful area. The property felt like home with cozy quality furnishings and was perfect for my two medium dogs. The owners live upstairs and were consistently kind throughout the stay. The property has a gorgeous private backyard and is very quiet. I have not slept this good in a year! The location is perfect- 8 minute drive to the beach. I highly recommend the 45 minute drive south to Durlston Castle in Swanage. You won’t regret staying at Joanne’s retreat! Wish we could’ve stayed longer.
