The seclusion and after a quick summary of how to handle the wood fired hot tub we were left to get on with our stay by Julie. We were contacted before and after our stay by Julie by some pleasant and friendly texts. Highly recommended.

Deveron Lodge Guest House, hotel in Pennan

Deveron Lodge Guest House, a property with a shared lounge, is situated in Turriff, 28 km from Huntly Castle, 49 km from Newburgh on Ythan Golf Club, as well as 4.4 km from Delgatie Castle.

The room had virtually everything you could need for a comfortable stay, including a radio alarm clock and touch dimmer switches on the bedside lights ... the tea / coffee making facilities were excellent with access to fresh milk if required and welcome extras such as chocolate bars and a bottle of water! The breakfast was pre-ordered using a list that was filled in the night before and was excellent with cereals, yogurts, fruit and pastries freely available in addition to the lovely cooked breakfast I requested. The host was very attentive and dealt with several phone calls that I made on the day of my arrival in a professional manner.

Lovely wee inn, fabulous staff and fabulous food. Set in Pennan a beautiful wee village on the coast of North Aberdeenshire. Not to be mistaken for the hotel in the film ‘Local Hero’ (a house a few doors down was used) but plenty of memorabilia of the film. Oh and the phone box outside the Pennan Inn isn’t the one used in the film! Lovely room with a telescope for fabulous views out to see.

This is a fantastic place, right in the heart of the village, very well equipped and super cosy. I couldn't really fault it and I would definitely return. The locals are friendly too. Just a shame the pub was shut on the days we were there.

Lovely hotel in a beautiful village. Run by very friendly people. Great overnight stop especially if you are a fan of the film Local Hero. The village is virtually deserted so expect the quiet life.

Fabulous location- with the sea almost at the foot of our bed and with good views along the shore. Three actors from Local Hero were in the village for some anniversary fund raiser, and posed by the famous phone box which was just across from our room. Our hosts recommended a good restaurant in the next town for our evening meal.

Great place, if you want to stay in a true scottish village with excellent location. If you like the movie, the experience is even better. Monika and Roland are very nice hosts and care about their guests. We can certainly recommend to stay at the Pennan Inn

Cozy cottage in lovely, quiet location on cliffs above Pennan village. Better than appears in the photos. We could see the village below from the side window. Sea behind and fields with cows to the front. Comfortable, good shower and well-equipped kitchen. Some nice local walks; had to walk on roads to reach them, but there was little traffic. Possible to walk to wee, cozy pub in Pennan (limited opening hours).

We travelled here having been fans of the film Local Hero. Were more than impressed with our stay. The village is almost exactly as it was in 1983. The B&B itself is quaint and homely, and the hosts, Roland and Monika are very attentive. The breakfast is phenomenal !! Will definitely be returning
