The property is well located and about a 3km walk from the centre of Kirkwall. The property was very clean, well decorated and comfortable. The owners live in the house but there is a separate entrance for guests and it felt very private. There was a range of cereals, fresh fruit and bread available for breakfast and the host also asked whether we would like pancakes; there was also plenty of sauces and toppings.

Lovely setting, very comfy little cottage, self contained a little distance away from the host’s house with a lovely outlook towards the water. Well laid out with two bathrooms which was fabulous. Comfy living room with tv, books and dvds. Had a bath-bonus! Comfy beds and good heating. About 30 minutes from both Stromness and Kirkwall but a great place from which to explore Orkney. Host Sarah was very welcoming and a good communicator and addressed a small issue we had very promptly.

Location was ideal for the ferry two mins away, only took 20 minutes to mainland Orkney. Lovely pub Murray Arms serving lots of fresh fish. The flat was cosy, warm and comfortable, had everything we needed for a 3 night stay.

Of all the places we stayed on our 21 day Scotland adventures, this one was at the top of our list. It's such a cute place with a cozy little living room, a kitchen perfect for a small group, and nice sleeping quarters. It was also conveniently located to lots of sites on the island. The host left jam and scones for us. The jam was so good we wanted to buy a few jars. Alas it was homemade rhubarb and not for sale. We'll be trying to figure out how to make it ourselves now. Thank you for the easy booking! If we're ever back, we will visit again.

The property is beautiful and in a spectacularly beautiful spot. I never tired of just looking at the view over Scapa Flow from the living room window. The owners went above and beyond, driving us into Stromness to the local Co Op to buy food on our first evening since we had arrived too late to collect our hre car.
The cottage was spotless, gorgeously rennovated and very cosy. It was an ideal base for visiting all the wonderful historic sites around the island. We can't recomend highly enough.

Everything was perfect !! The location was a short drive from Kirkwall which meant we had the opportunity to visit some of the smaller villages enroute. Teresa and Malcolm, our hosts, welcomed us into their home and gave us many insightful tips about Orkney that made our trip run more smoothly. The breakfast was fresh and delicious each day and the room was generous in size with quality inclusions and a most incredible view! We most certainly recommend this accommodation for visitors to Orkney !!
This holiday home is perfectly located in the centre of town. It's very comfortable and provided us everything we needed for a most enjoyable stay. There was even a very nice garden to sit in during the long evenings. Though we never met anyone, the service was excellent.
Just like host said: Small house but big welcome! It was big surprise when we're walking into the house, all things are very clean and organized very well, feeling homey!

Lovely clean, comfortably furnished, spacious house in an ideal village location for the ferry and to see the Orkney sights. Particularly appreciated the dog friendly enclosed garden, sheltered outdoor seating area, dedicated parking and the log burner. Local grocery stores and good eating places nearby. Would definitely recommend.
absolutely loved everything about our stay at Rymmon Retreat! perfect remote location with breathtaking scenery and views right over Loch Swannay! only a 5min drive to the local Mistra shop in Evie village too!
the lodge couldn’t have been any better, it was immaculate and so cosy and comfortable! Our hosts had literally thought of everything! it really was a home away from home! Free Wi-Fi at the property was superb too and allowed us to run our fire stick with no buffering!

Near the ferry terminal. If you want a quiet village feel to your stay but within an easy drivable distance to the sites this huge house is ideal. Kitchen big enough for 3 to eat in and a separate utility.
