A real privilege to stay in a wonderful location with such a welcoming host. The house is so tastefully furnished, comfortable and full of charm. The breakfast table was beautifully laid out which made the excellent and generous breakfast such a pleasure. This was our second visit and we hope to return.

Lovely B&B, beautifully decorated, good-sized rooms with en-suite. The breakfast was great (although served from 8 am onward), and the staff friendly and helpful. It is not a hotel, so the rooms are not cleaned during your stay (I stayed 4 nights). The location is great, within walking distance from the station and the city centre.
Comprising of converted farm buildings and new purpose-built apartments, Plawsworth Hall is located in Chester-le-Street, not far from Lumley Castle. WiFi is provided throughout the properties.

The bed was sumptuous, the furnishings were of a very high quality, and there was a real sense of space. Superb connections to Durham. Shincliffe itself is beautiful with great coffee shops and pub.

Tranquil setting with beautiful views & garden. The most cosy staycation we have ever been on, we will absolutely book here again! So easy to find & considering it’s off grid slightly, having food delivered was so easy :). Had everything we needed and more!
There were local shops 5 minutes in village and 15 minutes from supermarkets in consett,
also beamish living museum is only 15 minutes away and a couple of pubs doing food near it
