We went as a family of four with two dogs. The location gives that of a rural setting however you are only 20 mins drive from a well equipped town. The cottage was perfect and had everything and more needed, the children loved being outdoors and fishing. The resident dog Oreo is absolutely gorgeous and so friendly the children are missing him already.
A charming little B&B in a quiet village, you'll have a good night's sleep despite the room facing the road. The room was spacious, well-prepared, and had nice amenities. The hosts are attentive without being overwhelming, and there is a cozy lounge to spend the evening with some drinks. Although the pub in the same building is no longer operating, they still have a license to sell alcohol. The breakfast is decent with good coffee, though another cooked option (e.g. porridge) would have been nice.
Location is perfect - only a few miles from the A75 and in a very quiet village. I was a good base for exploring the area. The building is old, and pre-dates ensuite bathrooms, but my room had been two smaller ones opened into one big one to allow for this which gave lots of space, even with a large double and a single bed in it. And the double bed was extremely comfortable. The room had a microwave as well as a kettle, and the breakfasts were excellent. It was also beautifully clean. And the hosts were super helpful.
Easy to find, charming rooms and cozy decor in a peaceful village at a very reasonable price. We felt very welcome and appreciated several books about the area which were shared with us. Very nice breakfast as well.
I didn't realise the property was right in the centre of the village in the middle of the High Street and expected it to be a detached building. This is totally my fault and did not detract from our stay. Our host, Debbie, was brilliant and could not do enough to make our stay as comfortable as possible.
Breakfast was cooked just when we wanted it. There was plenty of it, great variety and good quality. We were travelling with a dog and she was welcomed, not just tolerated. Great location. Easy parking. Quiet village.
The location in this little village is fantastic for a stopover to catch the ferry over to Ireland. Everyone was very friendly and our dog "Luigi" was treated really well. Even had a little bit of live music in the bar.
