Can't put into words how great this place was, but I'll try. :) We regretted that we could only stay for 3 nights on our road trip. The apartment is eco-friendly, spacious yet cozy, and modern with an extremely well equipped kitchen, and it's spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated with paintings by local artists. Hilary and Michael were lovely and made us feel very welcome with delicious homemade jam, bread, shortbread and tablet. Thank you so much! The panorama window was an absolute highlight and provided stunning views, on a clear day you can see the Outer Hebrides. The location is very remote in the North West of Skye, which means that if you're short on time and want to aim for the typical sights in the East (the Storr, Quaraing etc.) as well, you'll be doubling, if not tripling, your driving time. We didn't mind as the scenery was absolutely breathtaking, and we like being off the beaten track, so it was perfect for us. Skye's oldest pub is a short drive away, and Dunvegan is easily accessible by car for groceries and restaurants and sights this side of the island. There's so much to see and do. Hilary and Michael provided detailed instructions on how to get to the apartment, as well as handy manuals for the heating and appliances, which was very appreciated. An Cala Beag really is a beautiful little haven and we hope to be back, next time for longer!

The Tidal Reach is the place to be if you look for a remote place in a breathtaking nature. It was hard to leave it after a week... The house is new, very modern equipped, the interior has style... There is all to feel comfortable and then there is that view from the terrace...

The location. It is quite remote, which for us was a bonus as isolation in nature is often desired. The water views are outstanding, and we would argue that the photos that are part of the property description do not do it justice! It is a very comfortable space with a wonderful living room that became the central focus of our time spent while in the house. It is fully stocked with most everything that a rental property can offer. The owner has a booklet with highly relevant and useful information about sights to see, nearest grocery stores, important phone numbers, etc.

The property was amazing, a truly wonderful experience from start to finish. The interior was stylish and cozy, perfect to relax after a full day on Skye. Perfect for all the social media snaps you want. The bedrooms were lovely, the kitchen was perfect and the fireplace was exactly what was needed after a long day. The host is incredible, leaving a welcome package, some wonderful Scottish treats, and checking on us to make sure all was well. I didn’t realize who Thomas Telford was when we booked so it was an incredible treat to learn as we were enjoying the area about the historic architect and engineer. I would come again and again to the Isle of Skye and stay here every time. Just perfect in every way!

A wonderful place, a beautiful view and a luxuriously equipped apartment. Definitely one of the best accommodations during our long trip across the highlands and islands. The price (compared to others in this expensive country) is absolutely right. Great host support via phone and email.

The Byre is perfect for a couples holiday, whether for a couple of nights or a couple of weeks. The accommodation is luxurious, comfortable, and well equipped, while the floor-to-ceiling windows make a feature of the stunning, mesmerising views. Iain was welcoming, friendly, accommodating and really responsive to messages. Stein is a small hamlet (like everywhere on Skye) so The Byre is blissfully quiet, there’s no light pollution, and there’s stacks of proper fresh air. We visited the pub and the YurTEA Cafe at Skyeskins and drove to other locations on Skye. We stayed for two weeks and didn’t want to leave!
