The Anglesey Hotel is in a perfect location for anyone visiting Alverstoke Village or the seafront. It is at the end of a striking road of white-painted buildings with lovely pillars. The staff are really nice and try to please. Breakfast is good for the price. I had a lovely sea view from my room. I have added some negative comments, but for the right price and if you want to visit Alverstoke I would recommend a stay, knowing its faults.
The Old Lodge was easy to find and in a great location adjacent to Alverstoke village. The staff were extremely friendly, making guests feel very relaxed.
Lovely friendly host and bright clean room.bed was good and coffee provided.
We had a car but not sure how you would go without one. Easy walk into a lovely village for pubs, supermarket and a couple of cafes.
Nice outdoor seating area to enjoy a drink from the bar.
At hosts recommendation we went to pebbles on the beach. Food was sensational here and live music was on.
The quick witted hostess made us feel relaxed from the very beginning. Good breakfast, nice guarden , quiet surroundings and still close to a village with a shop an a chinese restaurant. Also the Solent Shore is within walking distanse and the Gosport Golf Club ( or 3 min drive if you prefer).
I've stayed here before and always friendly, lively and a bit chaotic at times (their words not mine) due to musicians often turning up to play in the bar. Rooms have always been very clean and food is great and well priced. The location is great as walking distance to the village shops etc.
The apartment is in a beautiful area in the village of Alverstoke, close to the sea & within Gosport. The apartment itself is tastefully decorated with a comfortable bed, en-suite with Moulton Brown toiletries a small kitchen area. There is Sky TV in the sitting room & another terrestrial TV in the bedroom. Claire is a lovely host and I can really recommend Number Nine.
