Offering a garden and garden view, Netherby Hall is set in Carlisle, 39 km from Thirlwall Castle and 19 km from Cumbria County Council. Featuring a lift, this property also provides guests with a picnic area. There is a sun terrace and guests can make use of free WiFi, free private parking and an electric vehicle charging station.

The apartment setting on the Netherby Hall estate is stunning and importantly for me, very dog friendly. Apartment was scrupulously clean on arrival and the amenities are first class. Staff are friendly and welcoming, with special thanks to Geoff. A courtesy shuttle is provided to the Pentonbridge Inn where the food and service are exemplary. A perfect sanctuary over Christmas and I have no hesitation in recommending highly.

It was a very welcoming and friendly place to stay, both in the hotel and in the bar in the evening, with its roaring fire. Canonbie is a charming village. Our hosts served an outstanding breakfast - importantly, it was freshly cooked and served on a really hot plate. Thankyou.

The feeling of being welcome. A small hiccup at the beginning was swiftly dealt with by our hosts. Lovely big, exceptionally clean and comfortable room. Delicious evening meals and brilliant breakfast in fact don’t know how they manage to provide such a great stay at the price charged . Felt very welcome in the village too thanks to all.

Warm friendly staff. Individual cosy room. If you want sterile corporate then book a Premier Inn. Good food and warm welcome for my dog too. Close enough to M6, but lovely village location. Really enjoyed my nights stay and woke refreshed and ready for the next leg of my journey.

Friendly welcome. Pleasant very clean room and bathroom, comfy bed, hospitality tray, varied choice on menu including daily specials, good breakfast including vegetarian option, parking across the road, easy to find, next door to the post office/village shop. Out of season so using the small bar only although there are bigger rooms elsewhere in the building. Very good value and would stay again if I was in the area.

On arrival the staff were extremely friendly and check in was immediate. They gave me directions for a lovely walk around the village and clearly explained meal times and locations. My room was small but comfortable, the bed extremely so. Due to facing onto the road there was the occasional traffic noise but I did have windows open as it was warm Easy parking directly opposite and the breakfast, which was included, was fantastic. Clearly a family run business and many locals present in the bar on an evening. Very pleasant
