Absolutely everything, the house was perfect and the hosts were amazing and they honestly thought of everything and everything we needed, the extras and treats on arrival were above and beyond and help was on hand anytime we needed, I'd give 100 rating if I could it was a great holiday and like a home from home, loved everything and would definitely stay again.
The beautiful conversation of this historic building into a great hotel on the water front and the quality of the accommodation and food. Also the peacefulness of the wee village and the hotel.
The Sands Hotel in Orkney is located in a small village, right across the street from the sea. You can enjoy a top quality meal in the restaurant, sit outside ( Orkney weather permitting) with a quiet drink from the bar, and loose yourself in the mesmerising sea. The rooms are all very tastefully decorated with everything you need. In the morning, enjoy a good breakfast to set you up for the day. Cannot recommend The Sands Hotel highly enough.
Everything to like. The location was great - very peaceful; partial but still lovely sea views (see photo); very handy for a beach and dog exercise; lovely pub/restaurant in village 5 mins walk away; Kirkwall less than 20 mins drive away; less than 10 minutes from St Margaret's Hope ferry arrival / departure. Apartment also very comfortable and cozy (this was February). Very speedy internet. We also had a staggering amount of sunshine!
A perfect location to explore both South Ronaldsay and Mainland, beach close by and plenty of dog friendly walks on doorstep. Burray has a pub and shop but the nearest village is St Margaret's hope with a few shops and pubs
We liked everything, especially our hosts. It’s very good place for big family cause it is literally half of the big house. Location was very convenient for sightseeing and close to ferry as well. I liked the home atmosphere and real village climate. Hosts are extremely friendly people. They would host you like a family. I loved the real bread and eggs from their wee farm. It amazed me so much. I would recommend this place to everybody!
