I found the back door a little difficult to open as there are 2 halves to it. But I got there in the end and well worth the effort - such a lovely surprise to see a lovely home.

I have stayed at Northgate House a few times when visiting Devon. The staff are always friendly and helpful end the hotel is quiet and relaxing in a beautiful setting. You can take a walk around Buckfast Abbey, Buckfast village up to Henbury Woods or along the River Dart. The rooms are always extremely clean and you are well catered for. Breakfast is a variety of good quality hot and cold food and the cooked breakfast is always to a high standard.

Lovely old inn, great atmosphere. Low ceilings and beams added to this, even if they got a bit awkward. Not overpriced considering the other properties in the village. Good beer - including the brew from the prison! Car park at rear, so easy access and cheap. Long stay 200 meters and also cheap.

Although it was advised that the B&B being at a local pub it could be noisy; we didn't hear any noise and slept well. The mattress was really comfi and the room very clean. Staff very friendly and nice and answered any queries. The village is very pretty and we had view on the main street from the room, Which was very calm and pretty with the sunrise.

Wonderful and friendly team. Low key relaxed pub and good. Well kept rooms. The wetroom shower was a nice touch and the beds comfortable. My (young adult) daughter's loved the pub cat. We didn't spend any time in the pub, (we were seeing family half.an hour away so not time to eat), but it looked good. The village is nice. My wife though Buckfastleigh was beautiful and traditional. And we'll be back again. Thank you!
