Castle cottage was a great stay for my partner and I and parents in law. We used it as an ideal base for visiting York and Harrogate for a weekend, but found that Spofforth and nearby Wetherby were lovely locations to stay and visit too, with some nice restaurants and a great pub just opposite the house. The house was super comfortable, clean had lots of equipment and games, so e outdoor space too and parking! I would highly recommend if you're in the area.

We booked to stay here with our family on our wedding weekend, we got Married at Riley-Smith Hall in Tadcaster just a few miles away. The house was beautiful, the children loved the location and the beautiful garden to play in. The bedrooms were perfect for our needs - I had a lovely bath on my wedding morning, in a gorgeous cast iron bath with the most beautiful view through the old sash windows. We loved the eco-friendly cleaning products and the rooms are decorated beautifully. Would recommend for anyone needing a stay in the area for a special occasion or a family break. My only regret is not having more time to spend in such a beautiful, historic property. The hosts were even kind enough to leave us some beautiful courgettes on the doorstep which my Grandma was thrilled with. I hope we have an occasion to stay again!

The facilities are much nicer than equivalent hotels in Leeds city centre. The apartment was very smart and well equipped. It’s really nice to have an honesty bar and the ability to self cater instead of relying on room service. The little outdoor seating area is also very attractive
It felt really homely, home from home, just what we wanted. If we ever go back to this area, this is the first property we will try. Central to everything in that part of the world. Village lovely, good bus service in to Leeds, cheaper than driving in and parking, no stress. Nice quiet location. Loved the display of Shirley's life, really meaningful. 5 star experience.
The house is great, nicely furnished and has a very homely feel to it. The rooms are a decent size, no wardrobes in the bedrooms but there are rails with a few coat hangers. The welcome pack provided is a really nice touch, a good quality selection with something for everyone. The location right in the centre of the village is excellent, great choice of shops, bars and restaurants within a couple of minutes walk.
Loved the house and would happily move in! It had everything you needed and would be perfect for a family with children,loved the village and easy to get to York,costcutter a couple of minutes walk as well as a lovely pub The Tomfoolery which we ate in and also enjoyed a lovely Thai takeaway
Beautiful area near the river
Beautiful house in a fantastic location iwithin a delight village. Lovely independent shops bars restaurants and cafes. I would 100% stay here again. Great communication, and everything for relaxing was there. Just perfect!
St Mary's Cottage is a cozy cottage for several people with plenty of space, storage and everything you need for a perfect holiday. It is beautifully furnished and is in a quiet location in a small, picturesque village. The area is charming and you can take wonderful day trips.
