The breakfast was delicious with very generous portions and fabulous choices. The staff were lovely, on arrival and at breakfast. Our bedroom and the en-suite were great, I especially loved the roll-top bath and the thoughtful decor. The location was ideal - close to Crich Tramway museum, and walking distance from the railway station for a trip into Matlock for dinner. Also bang on for canal and river walking.

Lovely place. lovely people. Our room was spotlessly clean, well decorated and comfortable. Bed was very comfortable and had tea, coffee and bottled water. Really good spacious bathroom with walk in shower. Water took a little while to heat up but when it did it was nice an hot. Continental breakfast was very good - plenty of toast, crumpets, cereals, yoghurt, croissants, fruit, cake, fruit juice, tea and coffee. Better than many hotels we have stayed in, and quite a lot cheaper too.

The location is without parallel, literally within seconds of stepping out we were walking through woods and long the canal. It was an idyllic location with an amazing view and from the property and from the walk.

Stunning location in a charming village, clearly very popular with locals as always very busy. Ample parking and a separate residents entrance was good, food was fabulous.
The place is a little gem in a little village . Breakfast was spot on proper job self service at weekend so you can have as big or small breakfast as you require. Room was massive with a great bathroom. The place had nice friendly feel to it and staff very helpful. Will go again for a long weekend.

A hotel with charcter and charm and yet not far from the main roads. The food was good , not fancy but well cooked and good quality. Staff were friendly. It's in a pretty village with pleasant views over the Amaber Valley.
Loved the location. Fell in love with the village. Went for quiet reflection and some cycling. If you’re looking for a wild night out look elsewhere. Big car park. Big bath. Very hot water comes gushing from the taps. Very friendly staff. Nice selection of drinks.
A large, beautifully decorated and spotless room. Very friendly and welcoming host. Great quiet location at the edge of the village with loads of parking. Local pub within walking distance.
We had a lovely welcome from Kate even though we arrived in the late evening, the room (No. 3) was spacious, modern and clean with a tremendous shower. The breakfast cooked by her Hubby was a 10/10 and I wholeheartedly recommend anyone to stay here. Well done to them both for their efforts. Kate also gave great advice on where to eat in the Village too ( The Horse and Jockey).
very quiet village location, family bedroom & large bathroom, superking comfy bed + sofa. meals nice and not overpriced. An excellent breakfast from attentive chef, lovely staff
