Gartmore House was originally built in 1793 is steeped in history from a private residence and the West front being re-designed by David Barclay one of Charles Rennie Mackintosh`s pupils, each room has a story to tell.

We absolutely loved this property. Beautiful location and interiors are so grand. Room was so much better than expected. Cannot recommend more! We would definitely return.

Nice enough place to stay at the price but no frills. Clean. Check in and out was easy. The twin room was plenty big enough for the two of us. Great location in the village centre.

The area was absolutely breathtaking. The views, the walks, the calm, the stunning loch right across the road... It was perfect for relaxing and taking in beautiful views and getting closer to nature. The small village close by (Aberfoyle) was lovely, after a walk in the forest we spent a large portion of the day just there.

We arrived at the property to be told we couldn’t eat there as they had bus trips to carter fo like we were second class citizens and as it was a mile walk to village for fish and chips not impressed. If your not as fit as we were do not book this property in less your on a bus tip as they catered for them only.

The location was lovely, beautiful scenery and it was next to Loch Ard. It was a drive to anywhere but the village of Aberfoyle 10 minutes drive away was great. It had a few dog friendly pubs and a coop and visitors wool shop. Everyone was friendly in the village and very helpful. We stayed in a cottage on the resort which had everything you needed for self catering.
