At Mafia Island Bungalows, the family-friendly restaurant is open for dinner and lunch and specialises in African cuisine. The staff was amazing, very hospitable and took care of everything. Breakfast and dinner was great, they have a really great chef and attentive personnel. They also rented us bikes for free, such that we could drive to the dive shop (~10 minutes by bike). Great and inexpensive stay!

Located in Kilindoni and only 6.1 km from Rufiji Mafia Kilwa Marine Reserve, Maweni CoralBay Beach Villa provides accommodation with sea views, free WiFi and free private parking. This bed and breakfast offers a garden as well as a bar. Everything was very fine - even if the accommodation is not yet perfect and still missing some finalization. But I was very happy at your place and I can recommend Maweni absolutly especially for guests just coming by ferry boat as you could reach Maweni in a couple of minutes by food, as well very close to the Mafia airport. All the nice food and the taking care of everything I really appreciated. I was very amazed about the taking care of the beach and the garden every day, the view and the nice and open location. At the bed and breakfast, all units come with bed linen and towels. We LOVED the staff and the genuine service they provided. We’ve been traveling all over the world and this is some of the best detailed service we have had. The dinners on the beach, great breakfast, and great conversations are what makes the accommodation so great. Ally the manager was very organized and professional. Mao the events coordinator, always had the biggest smile on and greeted us every time by name. Saidi & Idi were incredible wait staff and showcased so much detail into every meal. Saidi even helped us immensely with a medical issue we had, and he made us feel so comfortable and at ease. Halfa our dive master for both of our days of diving, was great! Definitely would recommend if you’re interested in diving.

Ally is a very good host that tries his best to help and make you feel at home. I had the room with own bathroom and it was big and comfy. Staff makes really nice food. A bit of a walk to the nice beaches but cheap to go there by motorbike. Friendly people in the lokal area. Definitely one of the cheapest accommodation around. Buy a local SIM to have access to the Internet. Cold showers. Tours can be booked from here.
Bunda and Ally are great hosts! They are always there to help you if you have any question! The kitchen can be used to prepare your own meals, as well they have a menu in case you would like to order dinner.
1. Staff: all are very friendly, nice and helpful. Major plus for this place and they have taken good care of us. THANKS! 2. Proximity to the beach, strolling along the beach during sunset has been really relaxing and the views were great 3. Great whaleshark snorkeling tour with Captain Kino. Swam with lots of whalesharks and the price is better than other places too. Don't miss this! 4. Food and drinks of the restaurant are much cheaper than nearby places and are of good quality. 5.
