You can buy wine for the table. Breakfast was very good and set us up for our long drive ahead. We would definitely stay here again it was very quaint and quiet. This is a traditional fine dining pub-hotel combination, with both components fulfilling the highest standards. The rooms are beautifully appointed and very quiet (we couldn't heat the pub at all); ours had a hedgehog theme. Spent a peaceful and relaxing night in the very comfy bed. All the amenities are brand-new but well selected to reflect the historical character; nice decoration details. Check-in was smooth at the pub bar doubling as reception. Without reservation, we got a table in the restaurant downstairs, and the food was simply stunning, with local specialties reinterpreted by a splendid chef. The hotel is in the middle of the market town of Tavistock (with parking in back), just minutes away from a beautiful mountain view of Dartmoor (check out the sunset). Picked up lots of souvenirs in the local deli (around the corner) and farmers' market, all within walking distance.
