We loved the experience of staying in a centuries-old listed building and discovering aspects of it's history and architecture. Having a great breakfast in a dining room steeped in history was memorable. Secondly, Paul and Melissa were fantastic hosts and it was wonderful to get to know them. Meeting them added to the whole wonderful experience of staying at Le Chateau. If they invite you to chat with them over tea, grab the chance!

The property is located less than 10 minutes by car from the city center and there was free and safe parking available. The staff was very polite and attentive to our needs. The breakfast was very fresh and there were many options available to choose from, we even got fresh coffee and tea! Our room was super spacious and clean as well as the bathroom, and the bed was very comfortable. The property is decorated with memorabilia from the previous owners but it feels like they have managed to keep a nice balance between the past and the present with more modern decoration, too. Overall, a great place to stay!

We cannot even say how much impressed we are of the Sycamore House. From arrival on we well received, help with our bike baggage a nice cold drink, lovely conversation. A swim in the pool before a delicious dinner with a beautiful sunset. Absolutely outstanding in every way. Room very clean with attention to detail, comfortable bed. One of the best places if not The Best that I stayed.

While the location is a bit off the beaten track, it was worth the effort
