Located near Serra da Estrela, this 250-year old manor house has historic furnishings and artistic accessories. Each themed room is a reminder of older way of life.

The sunny rooms of Casa Das Obras also have modern comforts such as a TV and central heating.

The house has been in the family since the 17th Century which made this an exceptionally interesting place to stay. We liked the mix of old antiques/ paintings and contemporary paintings by the owner’s brother. The breakfast was delicious with many sweet and savory choices. Playing billiards in this setting was certainly memorable. If the owner had offered a tour of the house with the history of the structure and contents we would have said yes. Also, there was a loud rock music band in the square nearby - we never heard it

The host is exceptionally kind, generous and attentive and went out of her way to make sure I had everything I needed. I felt really taken care of. The breakfast was very satisfying, with freshly squeezed juice and locally grown vegetables.

The rooms of Descanso Serrano are decorated with neutral colours and wooden floors. All rooms have heating, a TV and a private bathroom.

Every morning, guests can enjoy a continental breakfast made with fresh regional products.

The place is very nice, well design, convenient and very clean and comfortable. It has air conditioning in the room in case of extreme heat (which we experience), and nice common spaces (several living rooms, terrace) to read, relax, play... It is located close to the center of Manteigas and yet in a very quite neighbourhood. The owner is very nice and very dedicated to the comfort of her guests. Highly recommended.

The booking in system was a little awkward since the hotel was some distance from the actual accommodation, but the staff were excellent and could not have been more helpful.

At the bed and breakfast, each unit is fitted with a desk, a flat-screen TV, a private bathroom, bed linen and towels. Some units are air conditioned and include a dressing room.

Belmonte Calvário Chapel is 24 km from the bed and breakfast, while Guarda Castle is 38 km from the property. The nearest airport is Viseu Airport, 83 km from Alojamento Santa Clara.

The breakfast was really great (extensive with a mountain view!), the bed was comfy, the AC was spot on, there was a spacious bathroom, the location has a great view and is close to Manteigas (it's just 15-20 min walk to the center which we enjoyed to do daily), and the staff was so nice. Everybody was nice, but the woman with the black braid during breakfast was exceptionally sweet and made sure everything and everyone was taken care of, and made us yummy espressos every morning. Thank you, everyone. We enjoyed our stay a lot.

This granite cottage is located in a rural area less than 5 minutes’ drive from the centre of Manteigas Municipality. The spacious rooms each feature a balcony with views of the mountains and free Wi-Fi.

All of the rooms at Quinta de Leandres have wooden flooring and each has a modern private bathroom with a bath.

Cute place, located up a lane slightly away from centre, town nearby with a decent super market. Breakfast was lovely, rooms basic but comfortable. Great location, was back on my GPX route in minutes. Owner is a legend 👌 seems a real character and lent me his kettle for the night. Private off road parking for motorbike that’s tucked up off the main road and out of sight, no drama there! Would use again 👍

The Alfatima guest house is located in the heart of the Serra da Estrela Mountains, offering a quiet and intimate retreat in natural surroundings.

The 4 double rooms all have private toilet, TV, and central heating. Parking is free, and both the guest house and its cosy restaurant have wheelchair access.

Beautiful place with ample parking, situated above a steakhouse restaurant. We were welcomed warmly and the room was modern, super clean and comfortable with beautiful views over the valley. Fantastic bathroom, comfortable bed and great facilities including a large patio (part of the restaurant). Quiet location despite being on one of the main roads. We used the steakhouse for dinner and the food was incredible (see a separate review for the restaurant). Breakfast was incredible too with delicious cheeses, meats, eggs, juices and a cake so good my partner had to buy the entire thing! We stayed when it was well over 30c and this necessitated a fan, but this was happily supplied.

Amazing hotel, full of charming details like paintings and monuments and original pieces of furniture. The lovely host made a tour around the building and told about the history of the hotel. The room itself was very spacious, no problems with the water and tasty breakfast upstairs! I would definetely stay here during my next trip to the mountains. 10/10!

The house was like a museum - a charming 16th century manor house with beautifully appointed bedrooms and some wonderful decor inside to match the historical architecture of the property. Amelia made us most welcome and provided an excellent breakfast each morning in the breakfast room on the first floor. https://highlanderimagesphotography.com/2023/10/18/casa-das-obras-manteigas-portugal/

Excellent breakfast, lovely homemade baked goods. Wonderfully restored manor house, quiet and peaceful - and the garden is a real haven. Lady of the house welcomed us warmly and gave good overview of the house and surroundings as well as suggestions for restaurants and points of interest. Hiking maps available.
