Absolute gem of the Douro Valley! My husband and I picked the Golden Mirror for the Douro portion of our honeymoon and we were so glad that we did! The rooms are spacious, clean and new and the view from our room was absolutely breath taking! The hosts of the hotel are so SO nice and helped us with parking every time we came back. The hotel is conveniently located about 5 minute drive from Regua and about 10 minute drive to Lamego - both had good options for dining. We did two wine tastings just down the road at Quinta da Pacheco and Quinta de Tourais - both were incredible and just a couple minutes from the hotel. Overall, this hotel is a 10/10! We hope to be back some day.

This is a unique & lovely place to stay, in a perfect central location in Lamego's historic centre, with a very kind & knowledgeable host, Zelda. This heritage building has been adapted into a hotel in an interesting & very stylish way (the cupola above the staircase is v. cool). Our rooms were comfortable, spacious & well appointed. The bed was comfortable. We enjoyed a very nice breakfast in a stunning breakfast room overlooking the city & with a terrace directly off the breakfast room which is part of the old city wall & leads to the famous 12th century cistern & the castle. I was impressed. The Quinta was stunning, the staff very welcoming, the apartment was great, spacious, comfortable, ultra clean and with impressive views. The breakfast was also great, with many options, and they adapted to our time needs for the second day. There are 4 friendly dogs in the quinta and they were super welcoming to us as well. The winery is not far away from Lamego and is easy to park there, with terrific restaurants available.
