Full English breakfast is served each morning, and there is also fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereals and homemade granola. Daily specials at Nearwater include scrambled eggs with smoked salmon, Spanish eggs and American-style pancakes with maple syrup and French toast.

The hosts are wonderful and very welcoming. Nearwater makes for a very comfortable stay with a great location, just a short walk to the centre of St Mawes. Breakfast is fantastic too!

On the picturesque harbour of St Mawes, with views of the Roseland Peninsula and beyond, The Rising Sun has an outdoor seating area, restaurant, bar and free Wi-Fi.

In the morning, guests can enjoy a full English breakfast or a continental buffet option. The restaurant serves traditional English food including local fresh fish, and in the afternoon, homemade scones and cakes are available.

We came for a wedding in St. Mawes and couldn't have found a better location. It is right in the center of the quaint town, right above the restaurant, and had a beautiful view of the harbor. Even though it is above a restaurant, it has 4-star amenities. The staff are extremely warm and professional. Checkin took only a few minutes and we were shown our room. It was spacious—more like two rooms: a living room and a bedroom. The bed was the most comfortable one we stayed at on any trip (and we had some nice ones). The decor of the room was an ode to the history of the restaurant and St. Mawes, but it was tastefully done without being campy or kitschy. For the wedding, it was so convenient. After-dinner drinks with the wedding party took place at the pub. The next morning we walked next door to the ceremony. Breakfast every day was a wonderful indulgence. My only personal regret was a race the next week, so I couldn't really take part in the wide selection of beers and ciders. Finally—the people. Every interaction was wonderful. There was an awkward moment when I misunderstood when breakfast was over. The staff quickly made an exception and saved my appetite. For that, I'm forever in their debt. In the end, it absolutely exceeded expectations. I originally expected a tired, overprice, touristy venue. What I found was classy, comfortable, authentic, and welcoming. Bravo.

Trelawney Guest House Room only is an Edwardian terraced property located 5 minutes' walk from Castle Beach. Free street parking is available at the property.

All contemporary rooms feature a 32-inch flat-screen TV. Some rooms have en-suite facilities and a DVD player.

Great location, short walk to beach and main street for meals. Tessa and staff very friendly, and I enjoyed the chats. Room was very comfortable with ensuite, great for a solo traveller or couple. Booking was easy and check in straight forward. Basic breakfast cereals provided and access to a fridge which I appreciated. But for more substantial meals it is eat out, although they do have guest discounts arranged with a number of eateries in town. Would definitely stay again if return to Falmouth.

We stayed in Falmouth for two nights as part of a little road trip through Cornwall. Highcliffe was the perfect place to stay! Its elevated location over the town offered gorgeous views of the harbor, yet it was only a short walk to restaurants and shopping. The rooms and bathrooms were well appointed and stylish, as were the lounge spaces downstairs. The restaurant in town is also excellent, we had both breakfast and dinner there, as the location right on the harbour is unbeatable. Very few lodgings in Falmouth offer parking, so this was another plus for us. They also offer an easy self check in process, which is helpful if you plan to arrive in the evening. We would definitely stay at Highcliffe again and will recommend it to friends visiting Cornwall.

Lovely position overlooking the bay and very good value for money. .The breakfast buffet choice was great with a reasonable selection of foods and delicious fresh fruit salad. For the money, it was a great little hotel. Im sure an upgraded room wouldve been nicer. However, we wanted something cheap and cheerful for the night and thats what we got 🙂
