The Little Annexe, hotel in Oakham

The Little Annexe is located in a quiet neighbourhood, 12 minutes' walk of Stamford's historic town centre. Guests will also benefit from easy access to local transport and major roads.

The little annexe was clean and comfortable. Rachel had gone out of her way to provide everything we needed including a lovely continental breakfast with choices of croissants, toast, jam, marmalade, yoghurt, fresh coffee and choice of teas. She left a map of the footpath to town.. only 15 mins walk and was so accommodating.

The Barnsdale was simple luxury. Fantastic location near Rutland Water. Beautiful quaint rooms. All the staff from the reception, waitresses and cleaning staff were so friendly and welcoming. It felt like they were welcoming you to their home. The outdoor pool was only just recently opened and was very much needed after a few hot days in the English summer sun.

Victoria was a charming host who made us feel at home in her beautiful period property. It was very interesting to hear of the filming of Pride and Prejudice here. The cooked breakfast was excellent. There was plenty of choice with a wonderful variety of fresh fruit and produce. Our twin room was lovely and spacious, with a good variety of hot drinks and fresh milk provided. The beds were very firm, which suited us well, as my wife has a bad back. Would definitely recommend, and certainly stay again.

The staff were really friendly and helpful. We stayed in a 'dog friendly' room and there were treats and a bed for the dog. The hotel was so quiet with no traffic noise. We had an excellent breakfast. Overall it was a really nice, peaceful place to stay and we are planning to return.

Great location for a really good boutique type hotel.. The staff were very attentive and helpful. The room was clean, well equipped and comfortable. Finch's is very popular for Sunday lunch, but we were told they always keep a table for room guests, which they did. Excellent breakfast, Eggs Benedict recommended!
