Momentos of great fishing, shooting, trekking decorate the banquet/breakfast area. Fine art by local artists compliment the theme. The real treat is breakfast, itself. The Gables is set in 2 acres of gardens outside Duddo, surrounded by the Cheviot Hills. This family-run bed and breakfast is housed in a charming Victorian villa, once a vicarage.

The Gables' picturesque setting offers views of the surrounding countryside, which is ideal for walking, golfing, fishing, cycling and bird-watching. You can go salmon fishing in the nearby River Tweed and enjoy walks along the Northumberland coastline.

The room was very spacious and clean, the entire house was decorated nicely and the host, Angus, was super friendly! We stayed here for only one night as we traveled south from Scotland, but would love to come back and explore Northumberland.

The welcoming Wheatsheaf provides peaceful accommodation and award-winning food. It is located near Berwick-upon-Tweed, Coldstream, Duns and Kelso.

Owner Michael Lawrence and his team offer a warm welcome to the Scottish Borders.

Very personable and friendly team. Long distance drive meant that I would be arriving late. Not a problem for the Wheatsheaf Inn, I received a phone call half-way through my journey to see how I was getting on. Rooms very clean, I had a great night sleep, bed was very comfy. The breakfast was 10/10 with lots of choices outside of your standard cooked breakfast.

All staff were really friendly including the locals in the bar. Our room was in the new annex and couldn't fault it, very clean, comfy and quiet. The bar area was very cosy with a great choice and a lot cheaper than down south. Evening meal was really nice with a good range to choose from. Breakfast was lovely and all cooked to order. All in all the Masons is a great place to stop over and will use again when in the area.

Very well cared for Bed and Breakfast. Parking on the grounds, quaint village. For dinner you need to go a bit far, to other villages, which may take 20 minutes to half an hour by car. But that doesnot matter when on holiday.

The location was a lovely quiet village and the B and B was exceptional.Sheila and her husband are wonderful hosts and we much enjoyed our nine days we spent in Abbotsford. The room was very comfortable and oh so quiet.Breakfast was very well cooked and plentiful. It was very hot weather during our stay and Sandy kindly provided us with a very effective fan, which was much appreciated. This b and b is everything a b and b should be and we would be very happy to return one day.It is the best of the best!

Lovely bed and breakfast in quiet village on the banks of the river Tweed. Modern decor and comfy beds. Plus guests had use of a fantastic communal lounge with large TV and kitchenette. All this was supported by very friendly hosts. Although this is aimed at cyclists, walkers like myself are very welcome.
