In the Scottish borders, around 23 miles north of Carlisle, Sorbietrees B&B offers high-quality bed and breakfast accommodation. In an 18th-century farmhouse, its individually styled rooms have free Wi-Fi and on-site parking.

Besides the comfortable room and the marvellous location, it was the kindness and hospitality of the owner that really sets this B&B apart from so many others. Sandy did everything that she could to make us feel welcome, with a kindness that we will easily remember. Warmly recommended to all travellers on their way around Newcastleton. Black Burn Lodge B&B has a selection of attractive bed and breakfast accommodation in the Scottish Borders, around 25 miles north of Carlisle. Located just to the west of Northumberland National Park, the house was designed and built by the owner, and features a delightful garden, terrace and conservatory.

Everything! Love the hospitality, the location, the lovely river view and dark skies for stargazing. I love the cosy room and thoughtful touches of the owners. First class stay !

    Comfortable and homely. Friendly staff are very welcoming and helpful. Good honest food served. Cullen Skink was amazing. Continental breakfast served to the room was varied with fresh produce which we enjoyed. Great location for dark sky’s. Looking forward to our next visit

    One of the most exceptional BnB’s we’ve ever stayed at. Everything we needed, and more was thought about and in our room. The breakfast is second to none, and our host was such a lovely person. Sorbietrees is in a great location, near to some amazing walks, sights and some lovely country pubs.

    Sandy was a very friendly, warm and approachable host and it felt more like we were sharing her house rather than staying in a business. The breakfast was great with lots of options to select including vegetarian options. The room and private bathroom was spotless and had everything we needed.

    Wonderful b and b! A friendly welcome. All sorts of little touches: bathrobes, slippers, fresh milk and a variety of hot drinks in the room. Large, cozy, freshly decorated impeccably cleaned room. The mattress was fairly soft and offered good support. Excellent breakfast. We could choose from an extensive breakfast menu the night before, and everything was served fresh, excellently cooked and exactly as ordered.

    Lovely big house in quiet location. Our bedroom was large, with a comfortable super-king-size bed and large well-equipped bathroom. Excellent breakfast too. Our host, Sandy, couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. Highly recommended
