Enjoyed a 4-night break in the Highlands and stayed at The Birches in Dingwall. The accommodation is in a new build extension at the rear of the impressive main house, which you enter via a path to the side of the house. Check in on arrival was seamless as you receive a text from Moira (the owner) advising which room you are staying in and where your room keys and guest information is left. The room I stayed in was tastefully decorated, clean and ideal for me as a single traveller. Tea/coffee/chocolate is provided and you help yourself to milk from the fridge in the kitchen. You order what you like for breakfast on a tick list, then leave it in a plastic folder near the kitchen the night before. If you need to restock on tea/coffee etc. and have your bed made up, you leave a token on the room door. You're very much free to come and go as you please. I met Moira at breakfast more often than not and she was friendly and hospitable. The weather during my stay was perfect too - caught the end of the summer with hot and sunny days.
Garfield Guesthouse is located in Dingwall, 23 km from Inverness Castle, 8.6 km from Strathpeffer Spa Golf Club, and 23 km from Inverness Railway Station.

This was the coziest accommodation I ever stayed in, super clean and we felt right at home the moment we entered the house. The host was one of the most lovely, warm and helpful person we met in Scotland (which is hard because everyone in Scotland was so friendly and kind!) and the breakfast she cooked was delicious! It felt like we were staying in a luxury hotel with the concept of a cozy home and it was run by an old friend! Can 10000% recommend this place and it’s absolutely worth it’s money! I’m definitely staying here again the next time I’m in Scotland ❤️
With countryside views on the edge of Muir of Ord, Hillview Park offers cosily furnished rooms and full Scottish breakfasts. Free parking is available, and Inverness is 12 miles away.

Clean and tidy well stocked. Good breakfast with flexible start times
For travellers who enjoy beauty in the simple things, a bed and breakfast (B&B) is the perfect place for a getaway. Hosts welcome guests into their homes and provide a private room and complimentary breakfast. Bathrooms may be shared by other guests, and there is often shared space with the host.
Lovely little chalet, quiet and peaceful, but not too far to drive to get to shops, restaurants near Dingwall for picking up food etc. Quaint little chalet that had everything we needed. Views were stunning. Bed was very comfortable.
Near enough to city centre, but lovely and quiet n secluded. Astrid and David were exceptional, as were their 2 gorgeous dogs. Very knowledgeable of the area, all recommended activities were superb. Bed was extremely comfortable, lots of room for clothing.
Great hosts. Adorable dogs. Delicious breakfast - best that we had on our one week B&B itinerary!
Lovely room, very clean and gorgeously furnished. Lovely skylight.
Very quiet - slept incredibly well.
1. Excellent breakfast. Every morning we have home baked scone, tea, juice, fresh fruit, and a main with your choice. Love the creamy porridge with maple syrup. And we have breakfast in a private and good view dinning room.
2. Although room is not spacious, its enough for a family of 4. It is clean, well furnished, warm.
3. Dougie is nice and professional.
4. Excellent accommodation, highly recommended.
