The Foresters Arms, hotel in Middleham

Situated within the picturesque Yorkshire Dales National Park, The Foresters Arms is a Grade II listed property nestled under the peaks of Roova Crags and Penhill.

Proper country pub in a great location (very picturesque and peaceful) with comfortable rooms - not TOO posh but with everything necessary for a short stay, excellent food and a brilliant hostess, host and staff. Apparently it's a community-owned pub and that shines through. Locals obviously love the place and the people who run it. Very friendly place.

Quiet village in the Dales. Hayloft full of character and hosts have attended to small details to make the most of the cottage. Intimate private courtyard below but you can still watch the world go by whilst eating breakfast.

Lovely cosy, quaint cottage. Well equipped with large kitchen/dining area, ideal for sitting together. Beds are comfortable and towels are large and fluffy. Sitting room area is probably quite small four people but still pleasant and cosy. Nice little sunny area at the front of the house with seating for two . Great quiet location with parking for one car. Right next to the castle in the middle of the village and handy for the pub.

Deceptively spacious, fully equipped cottage, far better-provisioned than the name 'Hayloft' might imply. Large bathroom, comfortable bedrooms, fully equipped kitchen. Suitable for group or family holidays (up to four), couples or solo travelers and also ideal for working people. Parking in private courtyard. Very quiet.

We stayed 1 night in this charming, quaint 16th Century pub in the heart of Middleham. Staff friendly and welcoming. Room was fine with a nice view of main square. Plenty of hot water and toiletries. It was nice to see tea and coffee facilities included decaffeinated. Good atmosphere in the pub in the evening. Breakfast was good with plenty of choices.

Met by very congenial hostess, Sarah - friendly, helpful and readily accessible. Cottage and property were exceptional; cottage was very clean, spacious and well equipped; property was expansive and beautifully designed with well maintained gardens situated close to the castle and shops, yet quiet and private. I would recommend this cottage to even the most discerning of clients.
