Our stay at Yr Hen Farcdy was the most cosy and hospitable B&B we had the pleasure of staying at on our tour of Wales. Mike and Sue are the most amazing hosts and made us feel like family from the moment we arrived. They have a wealth of information to share about the area and can point you to all the best attractions. Our accommodation was perfect and provided everything we needed. The magical garden setting is such a peaceful surrounding and make the place very special.
The breakfast was outstanding and delicious and we felt it was one of the best breakfasts of our trip. We can highly recommend Yr Hen Farcdy and would definitely return.
Set within a beautiful Grade II listed building, dating back to the 17th century, this charming hotel boasts an idyllic setting in the village of Maentwrog, at the very heart of Snowdonia

Perfect little getaway ❤️ the scenery was gorgeous, quiet, everyone we met were very welcoming. The house itself was cozy, comfortable and a beautiful place to return to after a long day of activities. 10 out of 10 would recommend for those wanting a break from the hustle and bustle of every day life.
Great old building set on a hill. Very impressive. The breakfast was self service with a choice of tea, coffee, juice, yoghurt, cereal, cooked options and toast. Staff very friendly and helpful
Great location
- Fantastic location in proximity to plenty of sites and walks.
- Private amongst trees with no immediate neighbours. You really do feel like you have the place all to yourself!
- Very quiet. It's next to the road but cars rarely go past.
- Thoughtful little additions like a karaoke machine, beanbags, board games etc. The decor and artwork was also very charming and homely.

Superb house in a great location (if you're happy to be a bit outside of the main towns and villages). Very clean. Good WiFi. Lots of space. Good breakfast. Very quiet when I stayed there just outside of the main season.
