Chris was an incredibly hospitable host, served delicious breakfast and kindly drove us through the first on the first day to drop us off at a nearby town as well as to the station on our departure. The breakfast options were plentiful and the food was excellent. There were local beers on tap. The menu is a gastro pub menu and the food was outstanding. Just be aware that the rooms are above a pub, so you will hear the “locals” enjoying a pint! It was, however, quiet by 11:00 or earlier. Manager, Rob, was most accommodating as were Hannah, Alicia, Verity and Kyle. We also enjoyed chatting with the housekeeper, Violette. The New Forest Inn was located near trail heads into the New Forest. Downtown Lyndhurst is a one mile walk and has many shops, food establishments and The New Forest Heritage Museum.

John was a most gracious host - friendly and gregarious. His breakfasts are just the best and his dog Quentin quickly crept into our hearts. It was like visiting close and loved family. John also knows the area well and lives in a beautiful old house that we were privileged to share.
