We stayed for just one night at Melfort House but I wish we could have stayed much longer. The house is ideally situated by a lake with the most amazing surroundings, walking lanes, sheep and the chirping birds. From the moment you step inside the house, Matthew is the most accomodating host, kind and welcoming. The room felt like a Jane Austen dream and breakfast was enjoyed in the intimacy of the living room together with the other guests, the presentation is exquisite! Next time I will make sure to book several nights!

Enjoyed the breakfast and evening meal was superb. Small cosy bar with good selection of beer and whisky. Nice quiet location but not far from Oban. scenery was exceptional in this area. Would highly recommend this hotel.

The host was accommodating, the heating was unlimited. (rare sight for budget traveling in scotland). The area is lovely. The parking is rather close and free. The walk to the city center is nice, 15 minutes . We even encountered a deer on our way. The room is also nice and comfy.

The room etc was compact but they made the best of the space and provided everything you needed. Loved the welcome package of Beer & Gin as well as breakfast provisions and the view from the little deck area was pure magic.
