We enjoyed the friendly and welcoming greeting, We had an excellent room (1), it was well appointed and very clean. Bathroom was neat and tidy, the heating was on and the room was cosy on a cold and wet day. Breakfast was excellent, porridge if you wanted it too!

In the centre of Kelso, The Central Guesthouse offers self-catering accommodation in the Scottish Borders. The building looks out over the market square, and provides free Wi-Fi access.

The Central Guesthouse has en suite rooms with a flat-screen TV and tea and coffee facilities. Rooms also have a microwave, fridge, toaster and iron.

I felt very well and I warmly recommend the hotel to everyone who wants a good bed (my bed was so big that it was as if I was sleeping on my own island), the kitchen is well equipped and I could have breakfast when I wanted, without depending on the opening hours of the restaurants, I had hot water, well-equipped bathroom, central location, it was clean - everything would have been perfect, if I hadn't had problems upon arrival, but I hope that the management learned their lesson and will check well everything before the arrival of the guests. If it hadn't been for that incident, everything would have been more than perfect. ;-)

Very friendly lovely hosts, made us feel at home! Was very clean and homely, and they couldn’t have done more to make it a pleasant stay! Private and quiet space, with off street parking, cannot fault it!

Great location just off the Market Square but far enough to not hear traffic during the night. Very clean cottage with comfy beds and a lovely living room on the top floor

Clean and comfortable. The staff made use all feel welcome from walking through the entrance to checkout. The location was convenient for the purpose of our visit which was to meet family that live in Scotland and those that live in Northumberland. At the time of our stay both the hotel and area were quiet but we did visit outside of the tourist season.

The food and restaurant facilities are awful. The staff have no idea about what a luxury stay should be like. The rooms are lovely and the spa is great. But the food is frankly awful, tried eating in both the restaurant and the bar and would definitely never eat again. And the breakfast was the worst I’ve ever had, cold porridge, u cooked eggs frankly it was awful
