The award-winning Bridge Inn is set in the picturesque valley of Wasdale in the Western Lake District. It offers real ales, home-cooked food and is 15 minutes from Scarfell Pike, England’s highest mountain.

We really enjoyed our stay and the breakfasts and evening meals were amazing! You also get a table reserved for you every evening for dinner which was a nice touch. The rooms are comfortable and were always warm and towels and tea, coffee, hot chocolate replenished every day. This is an ideal place for Scafell pike walks. Definitely would stay here again.

Muncaster Castle Coachman's Quarters are now all self catering with recently refreshed and redecorated rooms all with access to communal kitchen, dining room and lounge areas. Guests can enjoy access to the castle gardens and hawk and owl center and there is free Wifi in the rooms.

This was a really cool place— the castle is stunning. I wish we’d had more time to look around, but we only stayed one night. The rooms are pretty basic, but very comfortable— good bed, warm shower, and lots of space. Nice little touches, too— they left little biscuits for us, coffee, etc. The coolest part was this: when we booked this room 3 months ago, we accidentally were given a rate that was MUCH lower than normal— literally £100 cheaper than normal. I contacted the property, and sure enough, it was a mistake on their part. I would’ve fully understood if they didn’t want to give it to me for the mistake price, since I had months to find another place. But they honored the price, even though it cost them a hundred pounds. I was impressed. Just nice people. :-)

Wasdale is 14 km from the bed and breakfast, while Scafell Pike is 20 km away. The nearest airport is Newcastle International Airport, 174 km from Keld Green House.

I think this property has been freshly refurbished as it was exceptionally clean. Constant hot water Loved having the games room, and the freedom to use the kitchen, and the location near the beach was great. From the outside you would not expect it to be as good as this.

Great location opposite Bower House Inn, good pub for dining. Relatively quiet part of the Lake District which is ideal for us, but easy reach of Eskdale, Wasdale and Ennerdale. Comfortable accommodation for two ( we stayed in the muncaster view cottage). Nice garden to sit in too.

A great location, perfect base for walking and very quiet. We managed Pillar from Wasdale head, a great flatter walk around Ravenglass, and a beach walk - very enjoyable… The Sawmill near by was great for lunch!

Lovely, quiet and scenic bed and breakfast. Exactly what we were looking for to explore the western fells of the Lake District. Food was excellent both at breakfast and dinner. We loved the cosy decor and charming character of the building. Staff all friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. Will be coming to stay again.

The room was fine, a good size, quiet from other guests, good shower. The location was great which made a lovely change from Bowness. No need to drive or walk outside to find dinner, the food there really was fantastic. Excellent breakfast included. All the staff were very friendly and made us very welcome. Best value stay we've had in the Lake District so far.
