The breakfasts were delish with plenty of choice. Very peaceful night's sleep in the big comfy bed. Barry and Irene could not have been more welcoming! I loved the tiny woodburning stove (it wasn't cold enough to try it though), the great design of the retreat hut and the meadow full of buttercups – a beautiful place to have breakfast. On that note, breakfast is a cook-it-yourself affair, but everything is provided and excellent quality. A very peaceful, comfortable stay all in all with total privacy. I highly recommend.

We loved the themed décor with every nook and cranny filled with interesting items. So much wood! There was parking in the lot, an elevator, a spring fed hot tub. There was a pool in the adjoining hotel for our use, but we stuck with the hot tub. Dinner (additional cost) was great with themed food available and roving singers. Breakfast (included) was served in a lovely room and was plentiful even though we are gluten free.

This lovely, old stone building is at the foothills of the Black Mountains amid beautiful countryside and views of the Brecon Beacons. It has a restful feel, comfortable rooms and a free Wi-Fi zone.

The oldest part of Black Mountain Lodge is believed to date back to the 17th century. It has ample free parking.
