Tracey made me feel so very welcome. The room was spotless and the breakfast exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble and always with a smile and "your welcome". This was a really exceptional stay and I really enjoyed my weekend. I will return just as soon as time allows. I would heartily recommend this to anyone seeking the absolute best that Hastings can offer.

The Laindons is a Georgian, Grade II-listed building located on the High Street in Hastings’ old town, just a 5-minute walk from the beach and several restaurants. This beautiful property serves breakfast in its conservatory, overlooking East Hill and the local Catholic and All Saints Churches.

The Laindons is a B&B as it should be. The house and all rooms are decorated not like a hotel, but like a family living space. Very tasteful, comfortable and pleasant. The hosts are very friendly, breakfast is exceptional. Also the location is perfect in Hastings. Silent street, directly in the centre. The Laindons is certainly not cheap but it is probably the best hotel I have experienced so far.

Number 46 is a short walk from the railway station and also from the seafront. We were greeted and shown to our room which was very comfortable, off the first flight of stairs and very quiet. It was clean and thoughtfully kitted out - a lot of thought had gone into the decor and comfort. There was a good choice of things for breakfast - individual fresh fruit salads in preserving jars, individually boxed cereals, beautifully cooked poached eggs, and good coffee. Checkout was seamless and we arranged to come back to pick up our bags later on the day we left.

We particularly enjoyed our stay with Vincent who is a great host and a very kind person. We were even lucky enough to be picked up at the station as Vincent was available at that moment. The room we had was immaculate, very well equipped and with a large comfortable bed. The bathroom with shower is spacious and modern. The breakfast is copious and excellent with toasts, Fortnum & Mason's jams, fresh fruits, organic eggs and even homemade ham without preservatives ! Finally Vincent, who loves Hastings very much, gave us lots of tips on sightseeing and restaurants to book. We will definitely come back to his house if we go back to Hastings
