This property is an absolute gem! It is one of our all time favorite stays. Our hosts met us after a long, hot day on our touring bicycles with cold juice and a very warm welcome. We arrived on a very busy bank holiday weekend but Pepita immediately was able to secure us dinner reservations. The house has been renovated with such charm and comfort that we immediately fell in love. The rooms were well appointed and the beds were amazing. After a very comfortable nights stay we were feasted with the best breakfast ever including fresh fruits and juices, yogurts, croissants, an assortment of fresh breads, eggs, bacon, and of course, excellent coffee. If I could give this stay a rating of 11 I would!

Warm and outgoing, helpful, delightful to get to know; she really extended herself to us to make sure all went well. Locaation - In a charming and quiet little nook of Thouars, an easy walk to the wine fair and a scenic climb into the center of town. Property - Fascinating multilevel property with many charming spaces outdoors, and well furnished indoors.

It’s unique and gorgeous, overlooking the river. Breakfast was a beautiful selection of meat, cheeses, breads, eggs your way, homemade jams and fresh squeezed juice. all in all, it was perfect. Would love to return someday.

Lovely rural location, peaceful and quiet set in its own spacious grounds. We had the deluxe room which was a large airy room with comfortable chairs to relax in and have a coffee. Very comfortable bed and en suite shower room. Dawn made us a fabulous breakfast of eggs, toast and jam and croissants

The owners, Adrian and Jill, were delightful and very friendly. They also assisted us with various issues we had with extreme good grace. The Gate Keepers cottage was beautifully done up and breakfast was tasty…. Fresh Croissants and pain de raisin straight from the bakery…lovely meal out at Trompe Souiris. Recommended.
