    Staff super friendly and helpful. Very social hostel with lots of activities to get to meet other people. Made some great friends! Good kitchen facilities and own alcohol permitted in certain areas. Individual fans attached to all the beds! And perfect location, easy access from airport and to bars, shops etc

    Perfect location! In a very friendly neighbourhood. Safe during day and evening. With a lot of bars, little restaurants, shops not very far from the motel. A bar and a beerhouse with very good foodtrucks next door. And very friendly owner

    Location was great, very close to restaurants and bars. Everything on the premises was clean, the room was great. Erik who worked at the front desk was more than helpful. Guided me on where to find good locations in the city for sunset and sunrise view points.

    All of the staff and volunteers at Lolo are helpful, friendly and a pleasure to be around. The coffee shop has the most amazing black rose petal tea in the world. And all of the thought they put into organizing field trips is really worth the stay. And the evening rooftop dining and sunsets are worth the price of your room.

    Room was comfortable and spacious enough. I liked that they had a restaurant and bar. You ordered and picked up your food. We had a hamburger which was good. It was like pub fare and good quality. They have a pool. The staff was very nice all round even doing little extra. Free food at happy hour, they had clam chowder that day. The decor an homage to the old Jantzen Beach was cool.

    This is the 1st time I've stayed at Jansen Beach--have always avoided it because it's close to a less desirable part of Portland. We were pleasantly surprised by the condition of the hotel, (tasteful remodel), friendliness of staff, and overall feeling of safety on site (although we were directed to park in the front of the hotel as opposed to the back (but after all, this is Portland).
