Bocas Town (Near Old Point)

The place was beyond my expectations. Ecolodge at its best, with a wonderful room and deck in front of the sea, staff hired from nearby communities, and exquisite meals and cocktails. Wifi only available after a short walk, which forces you to healthily manage your connection time... this is sustainable tourism for real!

Offering beachfront terraces, Residencia Natural is situated in Old Point on the island of Bastimentos, 45 minutes by boat from Bocas town.
The accommodation is fitted with a seating area. All units have a terrace. There is also a dining area and a kitchen fitted with an oven and fridge. Each unit comes with a private bathroom with shower and hot water. Towels and bed linen are included. All beds have mosquito netting and ceiling fans. The electricity is solar.

Beautiful, serene location, although quite distant from the civilisation, we were quite self sufficient in sustaining there. The beaches and the house are beautiful (especially the top floor of the house). We got a beautiful fish from the local helper for small amount of money, it was fresh and delicious. Overall our experience was enjoyable.

The tranquility of the place was wonderful. It's a 30 min or so boat ride from Bocas Town which is what we wanted since Bocas Town has turned into nothing but a party town with extremely loud music till 3-4 in the morning mid week thru the weekend. So it was wonderful. The staff were exceptional and friendly. Alondra went above and beyond for anything we needed. The food was amazing and fresh. They set up dinner each night on our patio for a nice quiet and intimate dinner. Thank you all for such a wonderful stay!
Buena Vista (Near Old Point)
Set on a white sand beach, the Popa Paradise Beach Resort features a beach bar, swimming pool and yoga studio. This adults-only island property offers free transfers from Bocas del Toro Airport.
Popa Paradisa is now Clothing Optional- guests are free to use the pool and beach wearing a bathing suit, topless, or entirely unclothed (nude). Clothing is required in other public spaces in the resort, such as the restaurant, reception and lobby bar.

We had a lovely stay at Popa Paradise, if you are looking for a quiet and relaxing place (outside the mouse of Bocas Town) that’s the place to go! The hosts, Vince and Rosie, are very friendly and welcoming. Food was great (a bit less options for vegetarians though), but if you eat fish and meat, you will enjoy it a lot!

Accessible only by boat, La Loma is nestled the mangrove shores of the Bahia Honda Bay stretching through the tropical jungle. We provide trips to Red Frog beach which is 10 minutes away. Boat ride to and from Isla Colon for check in and check out dates is included. The area is popular for bird watching, kayak, snorkelling and hiking.

1. Everyone at La Loma couldn’t do enough. Sophia the manager on site was just amazing with all her guest. She would go around asking if anyone needs anything or what activities she could arrange for them. This personal touch is unique and wonderful. she was always smiling and always willing to help.
